4 / 25 · The accounts that raise money

Each race has its own campaign account. Several officials also chair a political committee, which can take gifts of any size.

8 / 25 · Her father

9 / 25 · The firm

Strayhorn & Persons-Mulicka, P.L.L.C. The state's corporate register lists her and Bruce Strayhorn as its managers. fifteen other companies give the same office address in their state filings.

Dashed lines mean only that: the same filing address, not a record naming the firm.

10 / 25 · Where the firm's money went

11 / 25 · Who the firm lobbies for

One is Mainline Holdings, LLC, whose manager and official contact in its state filings is David Mulicka; the firm registered to lobby for it in July 2021, before he took office. Another is the Gasparilla Inn.

12 / 25 · And the companies around them

Each new dot is a company or person tied to one of those companies in state corporate filings: the same officer, the same official contact, or the same office address (dashed).

Gold lines are their gifts to commission, School Board and sheriff campaigns.

Key to the lines

  • Money given
  • Money paid or spent
  • Refunds
  • Family
  • Officer, manager or agent
  • Registered to lobby for
  • Logged meeting
  • Vote or county item
  • Dashed: inferred (same filing address or same officer name)
  • Thicker line: more dollars, net of refunds (a gift refunded in full is a faint hairline)
  • Short line: the person's own campaign account or committee

Every line is a public record: a campaign-finance filing, a state corporate registration, a lobbyist registration or log, or the Board's own minutes. Dollar figures are at least what was filed, and net of refunds: a gift less what was refunded of it, per giver and recipient, with the gift and the refund shown beside every figure that has one (a gift refunded in full is drawn faint, labelled "fully refunded"). Dashed lines are inferences from a shared filing address or a shared officer name, never a record that names the link.
